If you love horror and want to see a completely new take on zombies, then Zombie with a Shotgun is a project you should take a closer look at

Zombie with a shotgun posterWe love when people have a project they’re passionate about and throw everything into making. That’s exactly what’s happening with Zombie with a Shotgun, which started out as a webseries several years ago, but always with the hope and intention to make it into a feature film. The time to do that has come now.

However, as we all know, it takes more than just blood, sweat and time. It takes cold, hard cash to get anything off the ground. That’s why the people behind Zombie with a Shotgun – with Hilton Ariel Ruiz at the helm – is doing the sensible thing: Crowdfunding!

You can watch several episodes of the webseries to get a taste of the premise, but one close look at the poster and you’ll see a man with a shotgun followed by a zombie with a shotgun, which tells you everything you need to know; We’ll be following a man as he becomes a zombie.

The only comparison, I can think of, is the movie Maggie where Arnold Schwarzenegger starred as the father of a girl, who was infected with a zombie virus.

I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
