WORST EX EVER: SEASON 2 is a Netflix true crime anthology series. It’s made in the same vein as Worst Roommate Ever, and whether we’re dealing with a terrible ex or roommate, these stories are truly terrifying. Of course, they are also fascinating, so you cannot stop watching.

What I especially appreciate about this true crime docuseries anthology from Netflix is that it interviews the victims. We hear from people who knew first-hand just how brutal and scary these people acted when they were involved with them.

We begin with the Deadpool Killer

Season 2 of Worst Ex Ever begins with a feature-length episode 1. It’s all about the man, who would go on to be known as “The Deadpool Killer”. Why? Because his name is “Wade Wilson”. Yes, just like the comic book character portrayed by Ryan Reynolds in several film adaptations.

The most terrifying thing about that first episode is that this man was clearly able to charm everyone. Men and women, dates and cops alike. It’s especially sad that the police (one officer in particular, who is very friendly with him) didn’t act when they had the chance.

From this very strong first episode, we move on to three equally fascinating and scary stories.

From 90 Day Fiancé to Worst Ex Ever

While Wade Steven Wilson, AKA the Deadpool Killer, will probably get the most attention initially, as it deals with a convicted killer, the follow-up episodes are also very strong.

Episode 2 in Worst Ex Ever season 2 deals with Geoffrey Paschel. He was a 90 Day Fiancé cast member who was convicted of kidnapping and domestic assault, among others. Oh yes, this is definitely a true crime docuseries, so don’t expect this to be about exes who didn’t care or were selfish.

I mean, they usually are selfish and don’t care about their partners, but their criminal activities are what land them in this Netflix true crime series. And jail, for that matter.

Blumhouse Productions and ITV America are behind the Netflix true-crime docuseries Worst Ex Ever. Just as in season 1 (and the Worst Roommate Ever, of which this is a spin-off series), the use of animation shows us past events. I much prefer this to having someone dramatize it with live action footage.

Seeing these animated versions of the people we also see in pictures works much better. Of course, this is always accompanied by testimonials, and even bodycam footage when possible.

The four episodes in Worst Ex Ever Season 2 are directed by Cynthia Childs, who also executive produces the docuseries alongside Jason Blum, Gretchen Palek, and Jordana Hochman. Natalee Watts is co-executive producer. If you liked season 1, you should be pleased with this second season as well.

Worst Ex Ever season 2 is on Netflix from May 6, 2026.

– I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
