THE PREDATOR OF SEVILLE is a Netflix documentary series in three parts. It’s well-made and focuses on the victims (or survivors, as is more appropriate, especially for this case). The perpetrator is a serial rapist who used his job as a tour guide to lure young women into environments where he could drug and abuse them.

Sadly, it took years for many of them to realize that they were not the sole victim of this man. Once they found out, they worked together to bring him to justice. Watch this Netflix docuseries to find out if they succeeded and how he reacted when faced with the many accusations against him.

Manu White or Manuel Blanco?

With The Predator of Seville, the perpetrator may be known under several names, but we’re dealing with one man. Many know him as Manu White, but his real name is Manuel Blanco, so Manu White is more of a “stage name” if you will. And the stage for Manu White is leading cheap trips across Spain, heading into Portugal, or even a short trip to Morocco.

Wherever he took his clients, he made sure to end up with a few select young women. The stories told by many of these women, who encountered Manuel Blanco over the course of several years, are eerily similar.

The young girls, who would end up being subjected to sexual assault by Manu White, knew the Spanish man as their tour guide. They partied with him, and he seemed like a good guy who would warn them of the dangers of going out or staying out. Instead, he would make a point of keeping them safe.

Gabrielle Vega was one of those young women when she was just 19 years old. She was in Spain to study Spanish, and years later, she became the fierce woman who would fight to bring him to justice.

From Prince to Predator

Unfortunately, his stick of being their safe haven worked. He got a few of them alone and offered them something to drink. This would make them sleepy or feel sick. In other words, these multiple statements from survivors make it seem like he drugged them.

Those who get away from him (often thanks to other women around) can talk about feeling drugged; those who didn’t get away have little to no memory of the events that followed.

What they do know is that their bodies hurt and they feel sick.

Also, the brief flashbacks that come around are indicators of something very bad. Of course, it’s difficult to go to the police when you don’t know what happened. Also, these women tend to be young and in a foreign country, so he had the upper hand all along.

For far too long, Manuel Blanco got away with his crimes. That all changed when Gabrielle Vega made her story public on a well-known television programme. She would soon discover that dozens of American women, who had never met, experienced something similar. All have one thing in common: They came across Manu White, the man who presents himself as “The Prince of Seville”.

The new Netflix docuseries was produced by Atresmedia in collaboration with Ana Pastor (Nevenka: Breaking the Silence), who you may recognize from when she portrayed a reporter in the 2024 Netflix movie The CourierThe Predator of Seville (org. title: El depredador de Sevilla) was directed by Alejandro Olvera.

This 3-part Netflix docuseries is not an easy watch, and it will anger many people who watch it. Not only because of the crimes committed, but also due to the struggles of achieving any sort of justice. Sure, there is “help” from some official sources, but the women tend to do all the heavy lifting.

This even includes having Gabrielle Vega’s beloved grandmother helping translate victim statements from English to Spanish. A job any embassy should have been able to assist with, but apparently not. Still, this documentary series also makes a point of highlighting just that. And yes, you should watch this… if nothing else, to see the power of standing up for yourself and fighting together!

The Predator of Seville is out on Netflix from March 27, 2026.

Plot

A sexual assault by a Spanish tour guide sparks a surge of similar claims from multiple US students. This documentary follows their fight for justice.

– I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
