KILLER ON THE AIR is a thriller that originally aired on Lifetime (Alt. title: Her Life Is on the Line). And yes, it’s exactly as predictable as you’d expect from a Lifetime movie. Now, it’s also getting a UK release, and maybe it’ll find an audience there as well. Read our full Killer on the Air movie review here.
KILLER ON THE AIR is meant to be a gripping thriller, but it didn’t do much for me. As someone who has enjoyed several Tubi movies and MarVista productions (which are often on Lifetime), I was ready to surrender to this.
Unfortunately, the illusion was ruined pretty much from the beginning. From the whole podcast setting (which was really more talk radio) to the caller stalking the host, it just felt flat and predictable. But hey, feel-good crime is a niche as well, so maybe some people will enjoy this. Just not me.

A podcast (or talk radio) host is targeted
In Killer on the Air (which was titled Her Life Is on the Line, when it premiered on Lifetime), we follow the therapist, Sarah Williams (Jessica Morris). She’s using her talk radio show (which they insist on calling a podcast) to help people.
Not unlike Gary Cole‘s “Jack Killian” from Midnight Caller or the advice column “Dear Abby” (is my age showing yet?!). However, here it’s called a podcast because people love podcasts. And people also love Sarah… or, well, most people do.
As it turns out, some people do not like the advice she doles out. Especially when she advises someone to do what’s best for themselves, and they then leave a relationship.
Someone will die…
In this thriller-mystery, an on-air caller claims that a murder will occur before this late-night shift is over. You know how those podcast shifts with on-air callers are, right?!
Yes, I am admittedly hung up on this whole podcast-which-is-not-a-podcast ordeal, but the filmmakers make it a core plot premise, so it has completely ruined the illusion from the very beginning.
Anyway, Sarah needs to figure out who this mystery caller is, if she is to prevent a murder. It is exactly as kitsch as it sounds (not in a good way). Also, yes, the ending is as cheesy and predictable as any Lifetime or Christmas movie you’ve ever watched.

Haylie Duff (Killer Nurses) is the director of Killer on the Air, which was written by Jeremy M. Inman and Aaron Strongoni (with the story coming from Damián Romay). And no, I am not surprised that three men wrote this screenplay.
But I am happy that no women were involved in writing, because that would have made everything even stranger to me. Actually, I really enjoyed Shaky Shivers, which Aaron Strongoni co-wrote, so I did expect more from him
This is not my kind of thriller or mystery. At all. However, I feel quite confident that there are plenty of people out there who will enjoy this movie. It is essentially quite safe due to its predictability and the very cute and fluffy ending. Yes, I said “cute and fluffy”. And no, I am not exaggerating. It screams Lifetime.
Killer on the Air is available on Digital HD in the UK on May 18, 2026.
