JUST ONE LOOK is a new Netflix series based on a Harlan Coben novel. This latest Harlan Coben mystery thriller series comes from Poland (org. title: Tylko jedno spojrzenie) and works remarkably well. It’s the third Polish Harlan Coben production on Netflix.
MORE HARLAN COBEN FROM POLAND
I watched all six episodes for this review. In fact, I binge-watched it because it was so intriguing and kept me guessing in all the right ways. It’s classic Harlan Coben, so if you’ve enjoyed previous series based on his books, you’ll enjoy this one as well.

A life-changing photo
In Just One Look (org. title: Tylko jedno spojrzenie), we follow Greta, who survived a tragedy 15 years earlier. She lost her memory of the days immediately before and after this event and will soon realize just how much she missed.
When we meet Greta (Maria Debska), she’s a happily married jewelry designer with two sweet kids (a son and a daughter). Her world is completely shattered when a mysterious old photograph of her husband shows up. And it does so in a very roundabout way.
In this photograph, he is surrounded by unfamiliar faces and even looks different. When she asks him about it, he takes off. As in he leaves their home abruptly and then disappears. We know what happens to him quite quickly, but Greta does not.
As Greta (“Grace” in the original novel) dives into uncovering the truth about everything she forgot – and how it connects with her husband’s disappearance – things go from bad to worse. And yes, several deaths are part of this!

Maria Dębska shines in the lead
In most ways, Just One Look really is a classic Harlan Coben story. Including the fact that it features a protagonist struggling to get to the bottom of a vast mystery. Also, this series is named after a song. This was also the case with the very first Harlan Coben series of 2025.
The all-important lead character of Greta is portrayed by Maria Dębska, who shines in the role. Not unlike in Fool Me Once (which is my favorite Harlan Coben adaptation), the lead character carried and lifted the entire series so much. Maria Dębska simply shines!
Also, Maria Debska looks remarkably like Ashley Judd in the 1990s when she starred in Kiss the Girls and Double Jeopardy. I was completely mesmerized by this, so I had to mention it in case you also feel she looks strangely familiar.
Other key cast members in Just One Look are Cezary Łukasiewicz, Piotr Stramowski, Mirosław Zbrojewicz, Mirosław Haniszewski, Marta Malikowska, and Monika Krzywkowska.
Watch Just One Look on Netflix now!
As mentioned already, Just One Look (org. title: Tylko jedno spojrzenie) is based on a novel by Harlan Coben, while the adaption comes from screenwriters Maciej Kowalewski and Agata Malasińska.
Previously, Agata Malasińska worked on The Woods – which is one of the best Harlan Coben adaptations – and the Netflix series Detective Forst. The directors of the six episodes are Marek Lechki and Monika Filipowicz (the Signs series).
With just six episodes, this Polish Netflix adaptation of a Harlan Coben story (or “Harlana Cobena” as his name is in Polish) is a very bingeable series. High production quality, tight pacing, and wonderful actors make this series worth watching.
Just One Look premieres on Netflix on March 5, 2025.
