IF IT’S TUESDAY, IT’S MURDER is a Hulu & Disney+ series from Spain (org. title: Si es martes, es asesinato). It’s a murder mystery series along the lines of Only Murders in the Building and The Thursday Murder Club. You know the kind where “normal” people try to solve a crime.

Usually, because the police won’t acknowledge that it was murder or because they don’t seem to care. This new original series will premiere exclusively on Disney+ around the world, including in the United States, the United Kingdom & Ireland, and also on Hulu in the US. Meet the Murder-Solving Tourists

With If It’s Tuesday, It’s Murder, we follow a very eclectic group of Spanish tourists, who get caught up in a classic whodunnit. Oh yes, while on a planned trip to Lisbon, Portugal, this group of tourists from Spain will find themselves in the middle of a murder mystery. Or rather, the police won’t acknowledge that it’s murder at first, so several of the tourists take it on themselves to solve the case.

We’re in an old and once-grand hotel, which has lots of charm in some ways, but is also filthy and dated in most other ways. Even the people working there look more like something out of Rocky Horror Picture Show than trained hired help in the luxury hotel they were expecting. And after just one night in the hotel, one of them will have died.

Once this one person is found dead, four of the others are quick to start their own investigation. Mostly because the police won’t even acknowledge that a crime has taken place. But could the killer be someone from their own group? And why would they kill someone? Well, who better to get to the bottom of this murder mystery than a team of devoted true-crime and mystery-novel fans?!

A Wonderful Cast to Bring it All Together

If you’re a fan of murder mysteries with crime-solving plots that also utilize dark comedy, then this is perfect for you. Not least, thanks to the amazing cast of If It’s Tuesday, It’s Murder. Anyone who has watched an internationally released movie or series from Spain will probably recognise several of the cast members.

You can look forward to Álex García (The Crystal Cuckoo), Inma Cuesta (The Mess You Leave Behind, La Novia), Ana Wagener (The Last Night at Tremore Beach), and Biel Montoro (Diecisiete).

Also in the cast are Pedro Casablanc (That Night), Luisa Gavasa (The Ministry of Time), Carmen Ruiz, Belén López (White Lines), Saida Benzal, and Gorka Lasaosa (1992).

Finally, the 7-episode Spanish-language series set in Portugal also features Portuguese talent in its cast with Adriano Carvalho and Paulo Pires, among others.

If It’s Tuesday, It’s Murder series is created by Carlos Vila, who also made Los misterios de Laura, which became the first Spanish series adapted in the United States. The series is directed by Salvador Calvo (Adú) and Abigail Schaaff (Ministry of Time).

With just seven episodes, one for each day of the week, this new Nulu / Disney+ series has a strong pace. We begin on Monday, and before Tuesday morning, we have a dead character, so we get to the murder mystery right off the bat.

For this new Hulu series, you’re essentially getting Only Murders in the Building, but based in a hotel and without a podcast. If you like a solid “whodunnit” with dark humor and lots of charm in its character-driven plot, then do check it out.

If It’s Tuesday, It’s Murder premieres on Disney+ and Hulu on March 31, 2026.
