DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON is the sequel to the 2015 horror-comedy, and it’s just as full of amazing practical effects. Once again, the unfortunate and lazy metalhead will bring forth events that could result in an actual apocalypse. Read our Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon movie review here!
DEATHGASM II: GOREMAGEDDON is finally here. It only took a decade for a sequel to be made, but it makes perfect sense for the storyline. The 2015 (released in the U.S. in 2016) cult horror-comedy saw a demonic, zombie-like invasion crafted by Brodie, and he is at it again.
If you enjoyed the original Deathgasm, then you’ll enjoy this one as well. You may want to rewatch the first movie (which I think is better), but you can jump straight into this sequel as well. Of course, you might miss out on some references, but the overall story works in either case.

Brodie is back at it again
The washed-up metalhead, Brodie (Milo Cawthorne), is not in a good place when Deathgasm II: Goremageddon begins. His girlfriend Medina (Kimberly Crossman) has left him because he is an actual loser.
He still lives like he’s in high school and takes no responsibility for anything. Well, except for his dog. I will give him that.
It’s been a good decade since everyone survived the demon apocalypse of the original film. Instead of actually making something out of his life, Brodie (Milo Crossman) is now a broke, washed-up musician, still living in small-town purgatory. He is stuck!
However, when Brodie discovers that the battle-of-the-bands competition NoizeQuest is coming to his town, he sees his chance to get out. That means he has to bring the band back together, but that is not without problems.
There’s the issue of his drummer missing an arm, and the much bigger hurdle of the other band members being dead. They did not survive the events of the first movie. However, what did survive were the pages torn from The Black Hymn.
And Brodie is ready to use them in order to get the band back together.
Bad idea.
Huge.
But also quite entertaining!
Goremageddon, indeed!
The full title of this sequel is Deathgasm II: Goremageddon, and the gore part is key here. The use of practical effects is amazing and pays tribute to the gore of B-horror productions of the past. Also, yes, you will once again get lots of heavy metal throughout the movie.
Fair warning: All the tropes of who dies in a horror-comedy will come in Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon. I hate it all, but I recognize that in this case it’s used very intentionally as a trope. This goes for animals and minorities alike.
Also, it is never gratuitous or too graphic – unlike virtually everything else in this movie. This is why I recognize that it’s shining a spotlight on a trope rather than just going with it.
Personally, I adore that Milo Cawthorne, Kimberley Crossman, James Joshua Blake, Sam Berkley, and Daniel Cresswell are all reprising their roles from the 2015 cult original movie.
Of course, this Deathgasm sequel also introduces new characters. Playing these quirky (and sometimes annoying) new characters are Kieran Charnock, Harrison Keefe, Maggie Nicole Robertson, and Adam Scherr (WWE Legend Braun Strowman).
Watch Deathgasm II: Goremageddon in theaters now or on VOD soon
Jason Lei Howden is back as writer and director of Deathgasm II: Goremageddon, so the team truly has been reunited. He also wrote and directed the first 2015 movie, and I would not want it any other way.
In between the two Deathgasm movies, Jason Lei Howden wrote and directed Guns Akimbo (2019), starring Daniel Radcliffe and Samara Weaving.
Also, he still does visual effects and has worked on everything from Spiderhead, 65, and Shadow in the Cloud to War for the Planet of the Apes and Eli Roth‘s Borderlands. While his own movies tend to rely much more on practical effects, he delivers all kinds of awesome special effects.
Deathgasm II: Goremageddon enjoyed its world premiere last year at Fantastic Fest 2025. It went on to screen at major genre film festivals such as Sitges, BIFAN, Fantaspoa, BIFFF, and Screamfest, to name just a few.
Now, exactly a decade after the 2016 wide release of the first movie, audiences at large will get the chance to watch the sequel. And yes, it is absolutely possible that more movies will come. I don’t think this will necessarily happen, but it could.
Deathgasm 2: Goremageddon is in theaters in the U.S. and Canada from September 29, 2026, via Raven Banner Entertainment. It will be out on VOD from October 13, 2026.

Plot
Years after surviving the demon apocalypse of the original film, Brodie (Milo Crossman) is washed-up, broke, and stuck in small-town purgatory. But when he learns that NoizeQuest, a battle-of-the-bands competition, is coming to his town, he sees a shot at redemption – and maybe even a second chance with his old beau, Medina (Kimberley Crossman). One problem: his drummer is missing an arm, and the rest of his band is, well… dead. Luckily, Brodie still has pages torn from The Black Hymn, so raising his bandmates from the great beyond is just a riff away. But with every chord comes blood, guts, and the kind of apocalyptic chaos that only Deathgasm can unleash.
