AMY BRADLEY IS MISSING is a new Netflix true crime documentary series with three episodes. That might sound a little long, but there is a lot to cover as the disappearance of Amy Bradley happened nearly three decades ago.

She was on a cruise ship when she suddenly vanished. Clues are few and sparse, while there’s the added struggle of her disappearance happening in international waters. It’s full of mystery and theories about what could have happened. Perfect for those who enjoy well-made true crime.

Don’t go missing on a cruise ship

If you’ve already watched the Trainwreck: Poop Cruise (yes, that’s the title) documentary on Netflix, you’ll have a good idea of the setting. And if you think it’s bad to be on a cruise ship with no electricity, then having a loved one go missing is much worse.

In fact, any crime that takes place on a cruise ship is a struggle due to it often being in International waters. At this time, the security personnel on the ship are in charge. Meaning the actual cruise ship business is in charge, and they are not looking for bad PR.

In Amy Bradley Is Missing, we hear about the Bradley family going on a cruise that the family has won at work. The family consists of the parents, their 21-year-old son, and their 23-year-old daughter, Amy.

That life-changing morning for the Bradleys

One morning around 6 AM, Amy Bradley – the 23-year-old daughter – suddenly goes missing. There are no real clues, and those that come forward as witnesses have stories that can be pinpointed to a specific time and can’t be corroborated by other factual evidence.

It’s a brutal and terrible experience for the family as the show (and cruise ship) must go on. After all, there is no evidence of any crime, and she’s an adult woman. Maybe she fell, or jumped, or just decided to hide and leave the cruise ship at the next harbor.

The Netflix docuseries unravels most of the theories surrounding Amy Bradley’s disappearance on March 21, 1998. And yet, most of the answers are still floating somewhere out there in the unknown.

Amy Bradley Is Missing – Review | Netflix True Crime Docuseries

What happened to Amy Bradley?

We don’t do spoilers here on Heaven of Horror, but since the title of this Netflix documentary series is Amy Bradley Is Missing, it’s hardly a spoiler to say this case is still unsolved.

On the other hand, it seems several people feel quite confident about what happened to her. Whether they believe the theories about an accident, a suicide, or a crime is another thing.

Once you’ve watched the three episodes in this true crime docuseries, you’ll probably make up your mind as well. Obviously, that doesn’t mean you’ll know the truth, but you’ll probably lean more towards one of the theories than the others.

Watch Amy Bradley Is Missing on Netflix now!

The Amy Bradley Is Missing docuseries is directed and executive produced by Ari Mark and Phil Lott. They previously worked on This Is the Zodiac Speaking and The Invisible Pilot. For me, they do a great job of going over the decades-long investigation.

Not least, the walk-through of various leads and possible sightings over the years. Every small clue offers both hope and more questions for her family, and I hope they’ll get the answers they need.

The three-part docuseries will help guide you through the events surrounding the disappearance as well as the investigation since then.

It’s brutal to watch her parents and brother talk about this life-changing tragedy, but it should not have been made without them. It truly is necessary and gives the true crime coverage a sombre edge that suits it.

The Amy Bradley Is Missing docuseries premieres on Netflix on July 16, 2025.

Plot

– I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
