AGATHA CHRISTIE’S SEVEN DIALS on Netflix is a crime mystery series with only three episodes. I was much more entertained than I expected, but more in a cozy, comfy way than on the edge of my seat. And, living in these crazy times, I gladly welcome that kind of entertainment. Read our Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials series review here!

AGATHA CHRISTIE’S SEVEN DIALS is a new Netflix limited series with just three episodes. However, it also very clearly appears to be an origin story that will lead to many more seasons. At least, I hope so, as this crime mystery series was an absolute treat and a joy to watch. Not least thanks to the core cast.

Yes, I will gladly admit that I didn’t expect to enjoy it half as much as I did. It’s a classic crime mystery – I mean, it’s Agatha Christie, so of course it is. Also, I really liked that we got the full mystery within these three episodes. In fact, having watched those three episodes, I am now just eagerly awaiting the news that more are coming. Preferably soon!

A solid origin story

With Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials, we get a story set in 1925 in England. Many are still reeling from the aftermath of World War I. Or, more specifically, people are still mourning those they lost in the war. This includes Lady Eileen “Bundle” Brent (Mia McKenna-Bruce) and her mother (Helena Bonham Carter).

We’re at a lavish country house in 1925, where a party is held. What appears to begin as a practical joke has a fatal outcome. Is it an accident of some sort, or is it *gasp* murder?! Well, this is an Agatha Christie story, so you should already know the answer to that. Plus, this is a crime mystery, and accidents aren’t crimes.

However, it would be easier if it were an accident, so Bundle will have to investigate this “accident” on her own at first. The Lady known simply as “Bundle” is whipsmart and wonderfully inquisitive, so she makes discoveries fast. Of course, if it were murder, wouldn’t it be dangerous to investigate the case?

Yes.

Yes, it would be, so more people will die during these three episodes.

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials – Review | Netflix Mystery Series

More from the Queen of Crime, please!

Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials comes from (as the title reveals), the Queen of Crime herself: Agatha Christie. Having watched the recent Poirot adaptations from Kenneth Branagh, I’m ready for the world of Seven Dials. A brilliant young woman, her friends, and family members make for a very solid center to this story.

Mia McKenna-Bruce (Vampire Academy, The Witcher, Sister Wives) is simply perfect as Bundle. And I have to admit that the trailer didn’t really do much for me. I went in to watch this series, expecting it to be just sort of okay, but I ended up enjoying it quite a lot. So much that I want more from this story universe.

Also, obviously, Helena Bonham Carter (Enola Holmes, Fight Club) is breathtakingly brilliant as Lady Caterham, Bundle’s mother. Especially in the third and final episode, she has a scene that left me speechless. Of course, Helena Bonham Carter can often have that effect on me. It’s just that she’s more of a satirical, comedic element at first, and then she turns up the intensity.

Other key members of this wonderful ensemble cast include Martin Freeman (Ghost Stories), Corey Mylchreest (Hostage), Alex Macqueen (Hijack), Nabhaan Rizwan (Station Eleven), and Ed Bluemel (Killing Eve, The Commuter).

Watch Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials on Netflix

While Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials is, of course, based on the story by Agatha Christie, this Netflix series adaptation comes from Chris Chibnall. Whether his name is familiar to you or not, you will probably be quite familiar with some of his previous work.

Chris Chibnall was the creator of this very successful Broadchurch series, starring Olivia Colman and David Tennant. Apart from creating Broadchurch, he also worked on Doctor Who, to name another famous production. As executive producer, Seven Dials has Suzanne Mackie (Behind Her Eyes, The Crown) and Chris Sussman (Stay Close, Good Omens).

Directing the three episodes in this limited series is Chris Sweeney (The Tourist, Apples Never Fall), and he is also executive producer on the series.

If you’re curious about this Agatha Christie crime mystery, then the 3-part limited series is perfect for you. Easy to binge-watch (difficult not to), and should leave you both well-entertained and wanting more from this world of detectives and crime-solving. That’s certainly the impact Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials had on me. And I did not see that coming based on the trailer or press material.

All three episodes of Agatha Christie’s Seven Dials will be out on Netflix on January 15, 2026.

– I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
