It’s not pleasant, but the Viral trailer is very effective!

Viral posterViral is the latest movie from horror director duo – and best friends – Henry Joost and Ariel Schulman. They’re the guys who brought us Catfish back in 2010 (a very real kind of horror story, since it was a documentary) and then went on to make Paranormal Activity 3 and Paranormal Activity 4.

In this movie we get the pleasure of experiencing a new disease, which is bound to make you squirm. The disease has been given the name “worm flu” because little worms crawl around inside the infected and turn them into zombies of a sort. Lovely, right?

Viral stars Sofia Black-D’Elia (Project Almanac), Analeigh Tipton (Warm Bodies) and Michael Kelly (House of Cards).

Here’s the plot for Viral – though I have to admit the trailer offers a different kind of story:

Following the outbreak of a virus that wipes out the majority of the human population, a young woman documents her family’s new life in quarantine and tries to protect her infected sister.

Viral will be out on VOD July 29, 2016.

You can watch the squirm-worthy trailer for Viral right here:

I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
