The trailer for Jack Goes Home looks really good and the movie will be out in time for Halloween!

Jack Goes Home - posterJack Goes Home stars Rory Culkin (Scream 4) in the title role, and was both written and directed by Thomas Dekker. You may know Dekker as an actor from A Nightmare on Elm Street (2010). He was also John Connor in the TV show Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles co-starring Lena Headey.

The plot for Jack Goes Home reads like a perfect horror mystery:

After his father is killed in a car crash, Jack travels home to Colorado to help nurse his mother (who was injured in the crash) back to health. There, he uncovers long buried secrets and lies within his family history, his parents, his friends and his very identity.

Sounds good, right?!

But really, the cast for Jack Goes Home is reason enough to go watch this. We’re talking Britt Robertson (Scream 4), Natasha Lyonne (Orange is the New Black) and Nikki Reed (Twilight). However, the best part for me is the fact that Lin Shaye (Insidious and the upcoming Abattoir) stars as his mother. That woman always makes any horror movie so much better.

Jack Goes Home will be out on VOD and in US theaters on October 14, 2016.

I write reviews and recaps on Heaven of Horror. And yes, it does happen that I find myself screaming, when watching a good horror movie. I love psychological horror, survival horror and kick-ass women. Also, I have a huge soft spot for a good horror-comedy. Oh yeah, and I absolutely HATE when animals are harmed in movies, so I will immediately think less of any movie, where animals are harmed for entertainment (even if the animals are just really good actors). Fortunately, horror doesn't use this nearly as much as comedy. And people assume horror lovers are the messed up ones. Go figure!
